The land complex is suitable for the construction of tourist accommodation facilities such as hotels and/or apartments with all necessary services. The mild climate and the great possibilities for tourist development make this area one of the most interesting in all of Portugal.
I would like to mention that the entire municipality of Odemira, in a phase of strong tourist growth, has the possibility of obtaining non-refundable financial support of up to 60% for investments related to tourism. To date, there are 2 various assistance and development entities such as ADL Litoral, with Alentejo2020 (projects up to €200,000) and Portugal2020 (more than €200,000). There is the possibility of legalizing a distillery in part of the current “Barranco do Cabo” building, which was formerly a Portuguese tavern and which is now a residential house. The Municipality of Odemira included in the DOP production area encourages with €10,000 the opening of distilleries that produce Medronho and/or other spirits.
Duty-free production up to a maximum of 2,000 liters per year. The distillate is highly sought after and is produced from the fruits of the strawberry tree, a very widespread tree on the property and therefore the raw material is available in abundance
